Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Review

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the third installment in the Ant-Man franchise and the sequel to 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. The movie follows the titular heroes, Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), as they face off against the villainous and power-hungry Kurt (Jonathan Majors).

The movie is action-packed, with plenty of inventive action sequences. The effects are decent and the film delivers some truly impressive visuals. The humor is spot-on and the cast is great, with Rudd and Lilly reprising their roles perfectly. The story is mildly engaging and entertaining, and the stakes do feel real. However, it's not without its cons; the film at times does seem to be missing a couple of scenes here and there. Also, the film felt lackluster and skippable due to familiarity of the quantum realm when it should have been more bizarre.

Nonetheless, Quantumania is a decent addition to the Ant-Man franchise, as it builds on the characters and their relationships in meaningful ways, and establishes Kang as the next major threat to our heroes. More so, being a die-hard MCU/Marvel comics fan, this entry fits well into the overall narrative of the Multiverse Saga. It’s a fun, exciting ride that delivers a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. I think this one is worth seeing in this theaters at least once, and if that's not your thing then you can skip it.
